Welcome to the Class of 77s Reunion Web page!
Now that the Reunion is officially over, its time to start filling this page with a recap of the weekend!
Of course, this page will be “fleshed out” with photos and more details in a few weeks, as time permits.
But for now - the highlights!
Fridays Activities
The 2007 Class of 77 Reunion started out at good ol PHS.
First up was the Coronation ceremony to witness the crowning of the Homecoming King and Queen.
Then we had a chance to check out the old digs with tours of the building.
Boldly decked out for Homecoming, there were also minor changes in the inside.
The lockers and walls above them are now proclaiming our colors - very festive and welcoming.
The floors are decked out in white tile, with a geometric design of light blue tile every few feet.
(It really opens up the place!)
Of course, the Circle Drive windows are now gone, with administrative rooms in their place.
Also new to us was a new passageway that connects the chorus/band hallway with the main building, near room 130 (parallel to the Circle Drive hallway).
We checked out the new library on the first floor, the new hallway/rooms where the old library was on the second floor, and the rooms that occupy the addition on the northeast corner.
(We heard that these floors in these rooms sometimes vibrate, just like it does at the top of Chicago skyscrapers!)
One funny note - except for new signs saying “Men” and “Women” instead of “Boys” and “Girls,” the bathrooms are the same!
Same tile; same color; I swear the same hand-driers!!!
Life was fun as we tripped down Memory Lane!
Next was time for football!
Unfortunately, a Homecoming victory was not to be, with the Knights losing to (still) undefeated Rolling Meadows, 10 to 7.
However, if cheering was part of the score, we would have won for sure!
So off we went to Ye Olde Town Inn, to drown our sorrows in a (ahem) cola....
A festive, if not crowded, time was had by all!
Very little has changed in the decor of the place.
Made me want to go out and buy a traffic-signal light for home!
What a great way to end the evening!
Saturdays Reunion
This “main event” started out with cocktails and appetizers in the newly-renovated Tiki Bar.
Conversational catching-up was done amid sips of beverages and nibbles of veggies and fruit.
Then was time for the 2007 Class of 77 photo!
It was amazing - none of us have changed at all!!!
Finally it was time for our sit-down dinner, in a ballroom decked out with PHS blues and 70s music playing in the background.
At around 10:00, some serious dancing began, and the sound system was shifted into overdrive.
At about 12:30, Security told us we had to turn the volume down!
(Were we just Party Animals, or is our hearing going???)
We retired to the hotel bar for some final socializing and fond goodbyes.
**********
The Reunion Committee hopes a great time was had by all.
If you have photos of the weekend that you would like to share, please send them to this site.
If possible, add the names of the folks in your photos.
We will be adding a linked page as soon as we get some in!
Also, we will be adding a viewable (but low-resolution) copy of the 2007 Class of 77 photo with names.
We hope you all enjoyed yourselves!
Continued happiness, health, and success to the Class of 77!
